High end Sony Xperia devices features a 4k display that would benefit having the checkerboard pattern cover more than half of the pixels rendered while having minimal impact on the visuals.

By "Quarter Checkerboard" I'm suggesting a pattern such as:

Where ■ represents a pixel rendered normally, and □ a pixel rendered with a dimming mask.

This pattern could then be rotated 90 degrees every minute to further protect the OLED display against burn in.
